About the IF-boat

om ifbaten bild1 400x250

The IF-Boat is one of the largest one design classes. It is spread all over the country. Racing with IF-Boat can thus be done in one design class at several locations. The location for the Swedish Championship (SM) arrangment is rotating between the West Coast and East Coast of Sweden, so that most sailors will have the possibility of competing about the Swedish Championship near the own region.

Swedish IF-Boat Association

The Swedish IF-Boat association works for keeping the IF-Boat as an one design class and that racing in IF-Boat should not be too expensive. The association has about 500 members, which makes it the most numerous class association in Sweden.

The association publishes the periodical magazine "Medvind", which is issued two times a year and is free for members of the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian Class Associations. The magazine gives tips and advice about owning and sailing the IF-Boat.

The association is organized in four regional sections:

  • Bottenhavets IF-båtklubb
  • Ostkustens IF-båtklubb
  • SydSvenska IF-båtklubben
  • Västkustens IF-båtklubb
